LeadPages and Unbounce are two services that offer similar things. Of course, that makes it difficult to determine which one is a better option. That’s why we’ll be covering the many differences between the two.

In this article, we will cover:

On top of this, Unbounce support is not limited to customers alone. Customer service is also extended to participant inquiries, free trials, media, and partnership inquiries. What Does Unbounce Excel At?

Generally speaking, Unbounce is an excellent tool for conversions. It’s excellent at building high conversion landing pages. The drag and drop tool offers a fast way to increase traffic conversions from your pages.

Comparison of Key Aspects

Here, we will cover many criteria and determine whether LeadPages or Unbounce comes out on top.

Purpose of Service: LeadPages can build landing pages but could also be used to create an entire website. Meanwhile, Unbounce specializes in creating sticky bars, pop-ups, and landing pages.

Depending on your purposes, either one could work, but LeadPages offers the potential to do more.

Editor Tool: Both LeadPages and Unbounce have a drag and drop editor interface. However, LeadPages also has a static editor, so it wins here as well.

Template Options: LeadPages offers more than 500 templates, ideal for various industries with relatively little customization required.

Meanwhile, Unbounce only offers 125 templates, making LeadPages the objectively superior option for versatility.

Functional Limitations: LeadPages allows users to make any number of alert bars, pop-ups, and several pages regardless of your subscription plan.

Unbounce limits these based on your subscription plan, thus making LeadPages a better option once again.

Suitable Users: LeadPages is designed with beginners in mind, making it ideal for newbies, freelancers, growing companies, and more.

Unbounce is designed more for advanced marketers and agencies. Which one is better is based on which bracket the customer fits into.

Free Trial Period: Both services offer a free trial period of 14 days.

Minimum Price: LeadPages has a minimum price of $37 a month, while Unbounce has a minimum price of $80 a month. LeadPages is the better option for individuals on a tighter budget.

Both LeadPages and Unbounce offer the tool one would need to create high conversion landing pages.

That being said, there’s no need to compare the two based on whether or not they can do the bare minimum.

But based on what was discussed in the comparison above, LeadPages appears to be the better overall choice.

Customer Ratings for Both Services

Capterra: 4.6/5 for LeadPages, 4.6/5 for Unbounce

Trustpilot: 4.6/5 for LeadPages, 3.7 for Unbounce

GetApp: 4.58/5 for LeadPages, 4.6/5 for Unbounce

Software Advice: 4.6 for LeadPages, 4.6/5 for Unbounce

G2: 4.0/5 for LeadPages, 4.4/5 for Unbounce

TrustRadius: 8.8/10 for LeadPages, 8.7/10 for Unbounce

The overall average rating for LeadPages is 4.46/5, while the average rating for Unbounce is 4.38/5.

These are very similar ratings, meaning that customers find both sites to be of roughly equal value on average.

The ‘better’ service is primarily subjective.

Summarization of Similarities and Differences

For the ease of making a decision, we’ll summarize the things both Unbounce, and LeadPages have in common, as well as what they don’t.

Shared Features

  • Both sites offer pre-built templates to use
  • Both sites allow users to customize landing pages
  • Both sites have a drag and drop editor
  • Both sites have exit intent features regardless of subscription plan
  • Both sites offer a 14-day free trial

Unique Features

Primarily, LeadPages has more flexible integration, especially if you are trying to integrate into a site that already exists. Unbounce, on the other hand, requires a subdomain on its site.

LeadPages is also a cheaper alternative. There are some other significant pages, of course.

  • LeadPages limits A/B testing to higher tier memberships, but Unbounce offers it to everyone
  • LeadPages allows integration into Facebook, but Unbounce does not
  • LeadPages allows unlimited page creation, Unbounce has page limits based on payment plans
  • LeadPages is a significantly cheaper option, being nearly half the price at the minimum cost

Where Does LeadPages Outperform Unbounce?

LeadPages is newer than Unbounce by a few years and offers an experience that allows even beginners with little to no coding experience to use it.

It has far more pre-built customizable templates than Unbounce does, possessing more than 500 on that front.

A large number of templates also means there is greater variety. They are all sorted by parameters, making them easy to browse. You can also search through these templates based on the type of industry they are suited for.

It’s also worth noting that, as mentioned above, LeadPages is much cheaper than Unbounce for all of its plans. So $37 at minimum, compared to $80, is a pretty severe price drop.

Granted, LeadPages does not offer all features at all prices, but if it has what you need at a more affordable price, all the better.

Facebook integration is the other feature that is unique to LeadPages and gives it an edge over Unbounce

That said, it also has fewer integrations overall than Unbounce, which is something to consider.

Where Does Unbounce Outperform LeadPages?

Launched in 2009, Unbounce is one of the first landing page builders to make a name for itself on the market. Being the older service, it has many high-end clients, including but not limited to the New York Times and Hootsuite.

Generally speaking, Unbounce has a better page editor, at least regarding ergonomics and ease of use. In addition, the lack of a static editor means there’s less interference with the drag and drop editor used by Unbounce

Another unique edge that Unbounce has over LeadPages is the aforementioned A/B split testing feature, available for all plans. LeadPages only offers that at higher-priced memberships. On top of that, Unbounce has a dynamic text replacement tool.

With this tool, you can create landing pages based on the most often searched keywords by your users.

This allows you to customize info on your landing page to match your visitors’ needs. You could have your site display a particular message only to visitors from a specific geographical area, for example.

 Final Summation and Verdict

Both Unbounce and LeadPages have pros and cons that make it so that neither one is objectively superior to the other. It comes down to your specific needs when creating a landing page.

For example, LeadPages is simple and easy to use and offers a lower price, but it also provides fewer features at the baseline level than Unbounce does.

Unbounce offers more customization options than LeadPages but lacks some crucial integrations like Facebook, even though it has more integrations overall.

The most important thing is to take stock of your business and goals and determine which service will better meet those needs. But of course, it’s not like you have to commit any amount of money to either service before testing them out.

After all, both services offer an equal trial period of 14 days, meaning you can go through all of their features without spending a dime.

This is the course of action we recommend the most, as nothing will help you decide more than personal experience with both services and everything they have to offer.

Of course, this article may have helped decide which service to try out first, though we suppose it doesn’t matter much as long as you equally consider both options to the extent you feel is necessary.
