This is how I figured out if Laura Geller’s Double Take Foundation is actually worth it

I’ve tried a lot of foundations. Powders that looked dry. Liquids that melted off. Creams that claimed full coverage but felt like face paint. When I saw Laura Geller’s Double Take Baked Full Coverage Foundation, I was intrigued. It’s baked, it’s compact, and it promises serious payoff without the weight.

So I tested it like I test everything—with real-life lighting, long days, and no filters.

What is Double Take Foundation?

Double Take is a baked cream-to-powder formula. It starts as a cream, then gets baked into a solid compact for a smooth, velvety finish. Laura Geller claims it offers full coverage, a natural matte look, and a non-cakey feel.

It’s also talc-free, loaded with antioxidants, and designed for buildable coverage that doesn’t crease or cling.

What makes it different from Balance-n-Brighten?

Balance-n-Brighten is lighter and more radiant. Think sheer-to-light coverage with a glow.
Double Take is matte and full coverage. It’s made to cover, not just even out.

If you’ve got hyperpigmentation, redness, or spots you want to actually hide—Double Take is the one to reach for.

How I applied it

I used a dense kabuki brush and lightly buffed it in, starting at the center of my face. It gave me immediate coverage—no layering needed. I didn’t need concealer for my usual redness around the nose.

Then I tried it wet. Game-changer. Just a damp sponge or brush gives it even more grip and intensity. Still smooth. Still breathable.

How it wore

Hours later, it didn’t move. No patchiness. No weird settling. I touched up once around my chin, but that’s normal for me. It handled a long day, hot lights, and me forgetting I had makeup on when I scratched my cheek.

Final thoughts

If you want full coverage without that thick makeup feel, Double Take delivers. It’s not glowy. It’s not sheer. It’s a workhorse foundation that holds its own and still feels light.

And yes—it passed the car mirror test.
